All About Me
Personal Profile
If you ask me to sum up who I am in a word, I'd say I am learner. Einstein said "The day you stop learning is the day you die" and he couldn't have been more true. Keeping that in mind, I aspire to learn and grow more everyday, and thats why I have decided to unlock my work from its locker of a journal.
Coming to my profession, I am a full-time student, who spends their free time painting, writing or reading poetry, capturing the world, learning new songs on my ukulele or simply lost in a Jane Austen rom-com like any 16 year obssesed with her work would. Now added to the list- working on this blog and interacting and learning from you all.
My pen name and buisness name is Toska, its meaning in english, quoting Vladimir Nabokov "No single word in English renders all the shades of toska. At its deepest and most painful, it is a sensation of great spiritual anguish, often without any specific cause. At less morbid levels it is a dull ache of the soul, a longing with nothing to long for, a sick pining, a vague restlessness, mental throes, yearning. In particular cases it may be the desire for somebody of something specific, nostalgia, love-sickness. At the lowest level it grades into ennui, boredom.” I think I chose this word as to identify myself because it appropirately reflects the essence of my work.
I am also going to sell some of my artwork and handmade jewellery here so I would love your support there too. Atlast, I am also an aspiring writer who is in the process of getting their work published. Besides that, I have edited and illustrated for a published book called 'When a bird fell in love with the Moon"
I really hope I can contribute something to your life and I hope I can learn something from yours too.
I’ve put a lot of effort into creating this site. I believe it’s the ideal platform to introduce myself, my work and my insights. Since I’ve always appreciated a wide variety of life experiences, this site includes a little bit of everything. Take a look at my portfolio below and please don’t hesitate to send me your feedback.
